Thia pretty fibre eye mask from Transformulas is designed to be worn overnight as you sleep, to de-puff, eliminate dark circles and make you look as if you’ve had a full eight hours in the land of nod.
I was put off almost immediately by the flimsy silver foil packaging and paper label of the Transformulas Eight Hour Sleep Mask*** (£12 from Transformulas). It looked almost home-made, not in keeping with the steep £12 price tag. It just doesn’t look or feel like a premium product, on the outside.
Once inside, the mask looks much better aesthetically. You peel of a film from the back and front of the mask, until you are left with the light, fibre sheet mask-style figure of eight mask to go around your eyes. I’ve tried several of these masks, and on opening each, I couldn’t understand how it could possibly be worn overnight as you sleep – it just wasn’t soaked with enough serum to keep it wet any longer than 20-30 minutes, and there was nothing to help keep the mask in place.Once on, the mask covers your eye brows at the top, the temples at the side, and the under eye area at the bottom. It’s comfortable to wear; but after 20-30 minutes each mask I tried, they had all dried out and had lost any of their dampness that held them in place. There is no way I could get one of these to stay on whilst I slept.
After 20-30 minutes when my skin had soaked up all the serum, I removed the mask to find that my skin was much softer, smoother, brighter and hydrated. It is packed with peptides to calm and soothe skin, and boost collagen production. It does work and the results are there; but it’s no better than the 100 other fibre under-eye masks that are on the market for just a couple of £s per go. One treatment of the Transformulas Eight Hour Sleep Mask costs £12. It’s a premium product that doesn’t feel luxurious, and doesn’t offer any exceptional results that would make you want to go back and purchase again.
The Transformulas Eight Hour Sleep Mask is good as a quick 20-30 pre-night out or post-bad night’s sleep eye mask; but it’s terribly overpriced and just not worth it.
