It’s that time of year again, when we start to think about Christmas gifting to our friends and family. I don’t think there are many people in the UK who don’t get at least one of their gifts from Boots. With Boots’ famous 3 for 2 Christmas gift promotion that runs every year, I know a large proportion of the presents I give out are always from the store. I’m talking all about Christmas and Boots Christmas gift sets in this post, and I have a fantastic giveaway for you to enter too, to win a beauty advent calendar!
This is a sponsored post with Boots, but all opinions are my own.
Boots have a gigantic range of Christmas gifts for her and Christmas gifts for him, every year. They have undertaken some research into people’s Christmas gifting habits, and the results are very interesting! For example, the study found that almost a quarter of Brits started their Christmas shopping in August! That’s so early, and I was really surprised by this. Boots also found that 57% of people say seeing the persons face when opening the gift is their favourite part of gifting. This is such the opposite to me. I hate people opening the presents I give them in front of them, as I fear embarrassment if they obviously don’t like it. Another finding that interested me was that 59% of British shoppers consider sustainability when purchasing Christmas gifts. I’m really surprised by this, and it goes to show how much we are concerned by climate change and manufacturing ethics now. I think that this will only increase as the years go on!
I thought I’d share my answers to some of the questions too Boots asked their participants too –
Which person’s gift receives the most thought?
Boot’s study found that partner gifts receive the most thought (38%), followed by children (20%). I definitely agree with this – my fiancé David’s present definitely gets the most thought, although we have imposed a budget this year, as we are getting married in 6 months and have so many trips away. I’ll probably just ask him what he wants this year, rather than surpise him. I’ve definitely been telling him what I want! I’m focussing more on the experience of Christmas together this year, rather than what to get him. What I do get him needs to be perfect for him though, so it will probably be something he can wear, or men’s toiletries/body products.
When do you start your Xmas shopping?
I definitely save my Christmas shopping until no earlier than the end of October. This is when the clocks change and the weather takes a turn, so it always feels like the natural start of the Christmas preparation period for me. I start to think about gifts and buy some clever presents if I come across them when the clocks change. I save the Christmas traditions of wrapping the gifts and writing Christmas cards until December however. They are the enjoyable bits for me.
What is the most quintessential Xmas dinner food?
69% of the people Boots questioned said roast potatoes! It definitely isn’t roast potatoes for me. I would say stuffing or pigs in blankets. These are my favourite part of a Christmas dinner, and you only really eat them at Christmas. Roast potatoes are part of a Sunday roast all year round. Stuffing and pigs in blankets are what people look forward to all year I think.I also had a look on the Boots site and picked out 3 fabulous gift set ideas for the women and men in your life. Plus, read to the end of this post and you can win a coveted beauty advent calendar!
All makeup lovers would adore a set of Spectrum brushes. Cross Spectrum with Disney and you have the dream gift! The brushes in this Spectrum X Disney Large Snow White Gift Set (£45) are such good quality and come in a cute brush case. There is no way that I could not purchase this being the beauty and Disney addict that I am, I’ve chosen it for myself and I’m not even sorry!A great gift for the women or the men in your life, is this festive Bumble & Bumble Sleigh Belle for Mega Moisture Set (£25) as everyone is looking for great, moisturising shampoo and conditioner. These are travel sizes, and the third product in the set is full-size – a heat protectant primer for those who blow-dry, straighten or curl their hair. Bumble & Bumble make such effective products, and they all smell amazing too.
Influencer and mother Giovanna Fletcher has created a lifestyle gift range for Boots this year, that’s full of practical but aesthetically-pleasing products. I chose the Giovanna Fletcher Head to Toe Gift Set (£14) for my best friend. The hat and socks feel so cosy and soft! They are also items that everyone will have a use for in the winter months, so it will be completely appreciated.
