OMG, I have holidays permanently on my brain just now, as i’m so looking forward to going away on my honeymoon in May, and then i’d love to go away again in the autumn or winter to catch some sun. I wanted to share with you some of the places and holidays i’ve been thinking of for later in the year. A lot of these are great for family holidays too, so if you have kids, these vacations are super kid-friendly. If you are interested in romantic places to get engaged in the UK, i’ve just done a post on that here.Santorini, Greek Islands (you can search for all-inclusive holidays on Travel Republic)
Photos of Santorini are instantly recognisable. Those crisp, clean, white buildings are Instagram heaven! It’s the perfect place to chill out and do nothing, or there are lots of little lanes and pathways for you to explore. You might even come across some medieval ruins. All the houses and buildings are attached to the cliff and offer stunning views of the beaches and out to sea. There are stunning beaches to sunbath on, incredible Greek food to enjoy, and you can even visit a winery or go on a jet ski in Santorini. This can be an active, or a total chillout, break. It’s totally mouldable to your needs. It’s such a romantic location and some of the most romantic hotels in Europe are in Santorini. Wondering where to stay in Santorini?Emerald River Cruise (via ROL Cruise)
The Emerald River Cruise from ROL Cruise, takes in some of Europe’s famous waterways, such as Amsterdam, Budapest and Vienna. Such, historic and romantic locations. The ships are smaller and more intimate, so would be great for a first cruise or for someone who doesn’t like the massive 20-floor cruise ships that some companies offer. Like most cruises, it’s full-board and you get some complimentary drinks too. You are also able to do their on-shore excursions, and they even offer bike hire if you want to go it alone.Sardinia, Italian Islands (holidays via Just Sardinia)
I’ve been looking at some of the family-friendly Sardinia all-inclusive holiday resorts. We would be going out of the main school holiday seasons, so there won’t be many kids about, but if you’re interested in taking your family, these all-inclusive resorts are hassle-free. I’m liking the look of several of their partner resorts, and i’m loving that you can just book everything all at once – childcare, flights, accommodation, meals, airport transfers and even fitness classes. Barcelona, Spain (for tips on hotels, check out this article from The Telegraph)
I’ve been to Barcelona before with my parents, but I didn’t get to fully explore it properly. One of the things that I loved was that there is an actual beach in the city, so you get the best of both types of holiday – a sea and sand break, and a city break. The food is amazing – I adore tapas and paella. The architecture is so pretty too, and i’d get a lot of Instagram posts out of it. The harbour in Barcelona is a really beautiful place to visit and eat – I’d definitely recommend that.
If you aren’t in a position to travel at the moment, you can still have a romantic time at home with these stay-at-home date night ideas.
You can see more of what i’m loving, and what i’m doing, over on my Instagram.
