Your kitchen, if you are lucky enough to have a good-sized one, is probably the social hub of your home. It’s where you cook, it’s where you grab a coffee with a neighbour and it’s where your family goes over the happenings from their day. It’s a communal space – a room in your house that everyone will see and spend time in – so decor choices should be both practical and welcolming.
I wanted to share with you some kitchen spaces that I am currently loving on Pinterest. If you follow me on there, you will have a good idea of my style. I like neutral colours with pops of colour and gold/coppers. I love luxe industrial style decor, as well as some lovely fresh greenery or flowers as accents.1 – White Tiled Wooden Worktop Kitchen via Pinterest and Pinterest
There is something so nice about white tiled walls in a kitchen, so long as you clean them all the time, to avoid them getting dirty and discoloured. They also makes a smaller kitchen look so much more light and airy. The effect of these white tiled walls against a wooden work surface is just beautiful. Add in some pops of colour from plants, or from painted kitchen cabinets, and you will have a timeless kitchen that everyone will be envious of. You’ll have no shortage of visitors either, as it’s such a welcolming look.2 – Quartz Worktop Kitchen via Pinterest and Pinterest
I love the look the effect of quartz and marble stone worktops. Real stone also seems the most practical worktop choice for me, as well as being the most stylish. Real quartz stone worktops offer a heat, stain, and scratch resistant surface. The non-porous nature of quartz also helps to keep bacteria from seeping into the worktop. I also love the coolness of stone – it feels so nice. This can be an expensive option however, but I think definitely worth it as it’s so long-lasting. You can also imitate the look of genuine stone by choosing a marble or quartz-effect laminate worktop – this won’t last as long and can be prone to staining, but it’s a lot more affordable. I love the look of the quartz and wood together worktop above!

3 – Art Deco Style Kitchen via Pinterest and Pinterest
I am obsessed with gold and copper accents against blush pink and dark green. It’s such an art deco-style kitchen look and it’s just stunning! I am swooning over those green diamond-shape tiles! So chic! I wouldn’t tile the whole kitchen in these tiles; but to have a feature wall done like this would be beautiful. Coloured tiles are a lot easier to keep looking like new than white tiles are too. Cocktail making is a must in a kitchen like this, and would look so elegant for dinner parties. This is one for people who like entertaining.4 – Exposed Brick Kitchen via Pinterest and Pinterest
I love the industrial feel of exposed brick kitchens, especially if they come with iron girders to add to the effect. I think it’s a real New York look and it reminds me of Chelsea Market. Such an amazing place and you can see photos of it in my New York blog post. It does make a kitchen look and feel darker, so bear this in mind when considering this option. If your property comes with these features, it would be criminal to cover them up. Conversely, it would be an expensive job to strip back a kitchen to expose, clean and treat brickwork. I guess it’s down to where you live with this design.
