I was intrigued to try this mask as it’s essentially a face mask and a cleanser in one, and it’s a product that takes just minutes to use – very handy for anyone in a rush in the mornings.
I would definitely say that this is a morning mask for that hydrating, plumping treatment and the refreshing gel cleanse. I keep mine in the fridge to make it an extra cooling and refreshing treat. The idea is that you apply a thin layer to damp skin, then leave for one minute; although I leave it for a couple of minutes. You then emulsify it with water to cleanse your skin and then wipe of with a damp flannel. It calms, softens and hydrates skin as well as giving it a deep cleanse to get rid of dirt and impurities. The Nuxe Very Rose Ultra-Fresh Cleansing Gel Mask (£20.50 from Escentual) has the most beautiful rose scent, so if you don’t like rose, you won’t like this. It’s 96% natural (and Vegan) so the scent comes mostly from the rose water; but Perfume is listed far down in the ingredients. The mask contains calming Rosa Damascena (the water from steamed white roses). It also contains a unique 100% botanical-origin Skin-Respect Complex, made up of moisturising sugars, to hydrate the skin and strengthen your skin barrier. The mask also contains emollient Glycerin, which attracts moisture to the skin and is also great for oily and acne-prone skin because it minimises pores and draws in non-greasy moisture from the air.
I’ve reviewed another rose face mask you may love!
You only need to use the tiniest amount of this – a very thin layer. It has a texture that’s sticky and a bit like PVA glue, so if you apply too much, it’s going to be annoying to get it all cleansed off of your face. Trust me, I lathered it on first time. If you want to see a video of the texture and how it moves, take a look at my Instagram here.
I think this is a lovely mask to use as your morning cleanse as you are kind of getting two different results for the one stage in your skincare regime. So, it costs you less and it saves you some time. Who doesn’t want that?! Definitely keep yours in the fridge – it’s a game-changer for sure!
