The month of May has been an especially difficult month in lockdown as we were supposed to be getting married this month, then there was my birthday too. Now we are passed those two hurdles, I’m feeling more positive that we will get life slowly back to normal now. I’ve got a selection of lifestyle and beauty products to share with you in this monthly favourites post.
Silentnight Ultimate Luxury Pillow Pair in Medium* – £25, QVC* Sponsored Mention*
These pillows are SO good and i’m really fussy with pillows. I love that these come in three different levels of softness, as I like neither soft or hard pillows, so medium is perfect for me. These are so bouncy and soft. They feel like feather pillows but they are fibre! Today only on QVC, you can get a pair of these pillows for so much less than if you bought them from Silentnight themselves – until midnight tonight they are only £25 compared to Silentnight’s price of £50. That’s a huge saving! Click the QVC link above to buy!Amélie Malbec Rosé 2016 IGP Pays d’Oc Wine – £9.48, Independent Wine
I am usually a red wine girl and my favourites are Malbecs. When I spotted this Malbec Rose, I was intrigued and had to add it to my order. The Amélie Malbec Rosé 2016 currently is on offer at Independent Wine. It’s best served as cold as you can get it. It’s light and refreshing, with hints of strawberry. Very easy to drink despite it being quite acidic. It doesn’t remind me of my Malbec reds, but i’m glad it inspired me to give this wine a try!Erin Body in Black* – £24, Tutti Rouge
Tutti Rouge do such amazing lingerie for larger busts and larger figures. The designs and quality of their pieces are amazing and they are actually very affordable. This sexy black bodysuit is just £24 and it comes up to a size 6XL. The fabrics, lace and ribbon details are so pretty and it’s so comfortable to wear. I’ll definitely be making another order!SLIP Hollywood Hills Silk Eye Mask – £50, Net-a-Porter
You all know how much I love Los Angeles, as well as silk eye masks and pillowcases, so when my Mum spotted this SLIP silk eye mask called ‘Hollywood Hills’, she had to get it for me. SLIP masks are incredible. So soft and they last so long, so long as you just gently hand wash them. Silk eye masks help prevent sleep lines and creases on your face that you get from other fabrics, and they help keep the skincare products you’ve applied on your skin and not on the mask, like you would get with a cotton mask for example.Mintd Box May Staycation Edit* – £95, Mintd Box
I just started working with Mintd Box on reviews of their beauty subscription boxes, and this was an incredible one to get as my first box. Their Staycation Edit was the May 2020 box and it was incredible value for money as you got this chic gold travel bag with the products and the Mintd Skincare Travel Bag retails on its own for £27. Even although we are past May now, you can still purchase this as a one-off individual box for £95. It contains products that are perfect for getting that coveted summer glow and products that are handy for travelling and going on flights. If you want to subscribe to Mintd Box and get their June box (a collaboration with MZ Skin) as your first box, you can sign up for a 3, 6 or 12 month plan. Currently, 3 months is £205.50.ForChics ForBrow Brow Enhancing Serum* – £23, ForChics
I’ve been sent a lot of lash and brow boosting serums over the years and I haven’t really tried them as I didn’t have much faith that they would actually do anything; but just as lockdown started, ForChics asked if I wanted to try their brow growth serum. I’ve now been using it daily for nearly 3 months. I CANNOT believe the amount that it has made my brows grow. I’ve always had naturally full brows; but the amount that this serum has boosted the thickness, volume and length of my brows is incredible. I’m never going to stop using this now! If you want to see what my brows are like as a result of using this serum, check out my DIY Brow Lamination video on IGTV.Murad Vita-C Glycolic Brightening Serum* – £72, Murad
I am a huge fan of Murad and I cannot think of a product of theres that I don’t like. I use so many of their wonderful creations. I’m lucky that I get all of their new releases just as they come out. Their most recent launch was this incredible Vitamin C and glycolic acid serum. A real brightening, texture smoothing and tone evening powerhouse duo of ingredients. This is a morning product for me and I only use Vitamin C twice per week. The other mornings I focus on moisturising and hydrating my skin (after my daily AHA acid toner application). The innovative packaging on this serum keeps the very unstable Vitamin C apart from the other ingredients until you pump. This means it is at its absolute best and most active when you apply it to your skin. Your skin will look brighter and more luminous, your skin tone will look more even, your skin texture will feel smoother and you are also getting that antioxidant protection from harmful UV rays.
Sunset Inc Reuseable Bamboo Makeup Remover Pads – £14.99, Amazon
I am a total convert to reuseable ‘cotton pads’. I resisted them for so long as I didn’t think it would work, but they really do! I use mine to take off eye makeup with micellar water and to apply my morning AHA acid toner. Once you’ve used one, pop it to the side until you’ve used them all, then put them bag in their wash bag and give them a spin in the washing machine.Alpha-H Vitamin Serum Kit* – £55, Alpha-H
Firstly, can we just appreciate the aesthetically-pleasing pastel bottles! Alpha H have released 4 serums based around four important vitamins for skin. They each have a different coloured bottle and the idea is that you choose which fits best with the condition/needs of your skin that day/week. They sell all 4 of them full-size, but they also sell a set of all 4 in a half-size bottle. This set is amazing as it allows you to be able to mix and match all of the serums for a really affordable price. There’s a Vitamin A/retinol serum to help combat signs of ageing, a Vitamin B serum for boosting skin moisture levels, a Vitamin C brightening serum that also boosts collagen production, and a Vitamin E serum to soothe and calm the skin when it’s sore, red, or broken out.Paul Mitchell Invisiblewear Velvet Cream* – £21.95, Paul Mitchell
OMG, this hair serum smells so good! Once i’ve towel-dried my hair, I apply a 5 pence-sized amount through the lengths of my hair before blow-drying or styling. It makes my hair so soft, smooth and smelling amazing. When i’m just letting my hair air dry and then tying it back, I apply a pea size amount, distributed between my palms, over the top of my head and down my ponytail to tame any flyaway hairs. A fab product and a tube last so long!Palmi Large Grained Leather Journal & Sheafer Fountain Pen Coloured Maxi Set- £19.50 & £19.50, Pen Heaven
I have always found the journals from Pen Heaven such great quality. The paper is thick and luxurious and the covers are sturdy and chic. I always get monogrammed ones, which is a little bit extra in cost. I am also such a fan of Sheafer fountain pens. They are so easy to write with and they really make your handwriting look much fancier than it usually is. I think an ink fountain pen adds an extra special touch to cards and letters. In this set you get three fountain pens in different coloured bodies, as well as a selection of different coloured ink cartridges to put in them. The purple ink is glorious!
