It is around that time of year again. The holidays are upon us and it is time to start thinking about giving away gifts if you have not already. Whether you are shopping for friends or a lovely one, gifting jewellery is a kind gesture. It can be difficult to know what to look for because you do not want to give the wrong message or make someone feel uncomfortable about the amount you have spent. All you are trying to do is simply showing how much you appreciate them by gifting them with a really nice piece of jewellery for the festive season. Something that’s suitable for your friendship. Here is everything you need to know about buying jewellery for your friends.
Length of Friendship
If you have known a friend for a very long time, you should consider gifting them with a really nice piece from a designer or high-end brand. It is, in a sense, a legacy gift to mark the length of your friendship and the fact that your relationship will continue for a very long time to come. For a friendship that has lasted decades, the minimum I’d say to spend would be the likes of Missoma, Mejuri, Edge of Ember or ChloBo. You’ll be able to find something across those range of styles that will suit your friend. The quality of these brands also means that it will be a gift they can wear and treasure for a long time. ChloBo actually make luxury friendship-style bracelets Do some research on the history of ChloBo. Of course, just because you have been friends with someone for a very long time does not mean that their friendship is worthy of designer jewellery. You will be able to tell which friends deserve a gift like that and which do not. One advantage of gifting a friend you have known longer is that you will likely have a better sense of what their tastes are. Picking out a piece of jewellery for them will not be as much of a mystery for you.
Your Friend’s Style and Personality
You want to make sure that you are getting a piece of jewellery that fits your friend’s style and personality. It would be a shame to spend money on a really beautiful gift only for them not to wear it or use it. For that reason, it is important that you choose a piece that complements their style and personality. Remember, you are not buying this for you. You are getting this for your friend. Take out your own personal style bias when shopping for them.

Reflect On Memories
It would also be a good, sentimental thing if you bought a piece of jewellery that also reminds you of a fond memory you share together. It could be anything that makes you think of each other when you see it. Perhaps a necklace with a charm of something that sparks a funny memory? On the other side of the spectrum, maybe you spot a pair of earrings that you know would make them feel like their all-time favourite movie star. You want to be sure that the piece of jewellery that you get holds some sentimental value, otherwise it could just feel like an empty gift.
When Not To Buy Them Designer Jewellery
If you and your friend have had a really big fight and you are trying to win back their affection, buying them really expensive jewellery is not the way to go. You could risk giving off the wrong message. They may think that you are extremely materialistic or maybe they may think that you do not really care about them because you are trying to buy their affection. A simple handwritten card with some chocolate or flowers is much more appropriate.
