I always steer towards the ultra-hydrating and comforting skincare products, but the warmer sunnier weather has had me reaching often for this gem of a mask. This intensly hydrating mask is even more of a treat if you keep it in the fridge. Thank me later.
The Institut Esthederm Intensive Hyaluronic Acid Face Mask*** (£32 from Face the Future) contains the hydrating powerhouse ingredient Hyaluronic Acid. It’s designed for dehydrated skin, but is also great as a cooling skin treat after a hot day, or just if your skin needs a plumping boost of moisture. There are different sizes of HA molecules in this mask, getting the moisture to multiple levels of the skin. It’s comforting, soothing and leaves the skin visibly plumper and feeling so soft and smooth. As well as Hyaluronic Acid, there’s also moisture boosting Glycerin and Algae Extract. Algae Extract also helps to protect the skin from environmental damage and has a whole host of vitamins and minerals that detoxify and replenish the skin too.The texture is a thick cream that has a slight buttery feel to it. You apply a generous layer all over your face and neck and leave for around 20 minutes. You then just tissue off the excess. As I said, I like to keep this in the fridge for after a hot day or after a workout. You can also use this as an overnight mask by applying a layer before you go to bed, letting your skin absorb it as you sleep and keep that moisture locked in. I am a fan of an overnight mask, but this mask is most enjoyable and most beneficial to me as a cooling moisture booster during the day. It makes for a lovely base for makeup also.

I would definitely recommend getting this mask. It’s for all skin types and I think it would be an amazing addition to everyone’s skincare routine; especially now that we are getting into the warmer months of the year. It’s a simple mask that does what it says on the tin very well.
