The Dermalogica Melting Moisture Masque* (£59 from Dermalogica) is dreamy. If you have dry skin, this is going to give you a serious injection of moisture. If you have normal skin, you’ll also benefit from the plumping benefits of this mask and the dewy look it gives your skin after you tissue off any excess.
The texture of this is a thick balm that melts on touch into a luscious oil on touch. You apply all over your face and leave it to soak into the skin. Dermalogic say a pea-sized amount, but I need way more than this. It has a beautiful relaxing scent and I like to use it at night and leave it on for as long as I possibly can. It really nourishes and hydrates your skin.
This buttery balm contains hydrating and soothing micro-algae. The mask is also rich in vitamins and really nourishing for the skin. Linoleic Acid nourishes while Vitamin E helps protect against skin-damaging free radicals for healthier-looking skin. This does have a fragrance, so whilst it’s soothing, I wouldn’t recommend it for irritated or broken skin as the fragrance might irritate it further.
Is it worth £59? As much as I like this mask, I don’t think it is. This is a high price point, and for this price I would want a mask that did more than this does or that’s more unique than this is. I also don’t think you get enough product for the price – something which is common with Dermalogica masks. An alternative to this mask would be to layer a cleansing balm on like a mask – I do this often. Another more affordable alternative in terms of amount of product, is the Charlotte Tilbury Multi Miracle Glow.
