Who doesn’t want a stylish-looking master bedroom that’s the most stylish and luxurious room in your home? We would all love to have a bedroom that looks chic and stylish enough to be on the cover of a home décor magazine. However, things are easier said than done, and it is indeed challenging to spruce up a master bedroom to turn it into a personal getaway that looks elegant and relevant, and is comfortable. Here are some tips of how to make maximum impact with your master bedroom, with the least amount of effort.
Stick to simplicity
The first rule to having a sophisticated and elegant bedroom is to keep things simple. Regardless of what style of furniture or décor you have, make sure that there is ample space between the bed and sidewalls. Keep only what you really need in the bedroom and clear out the clutter. A clutter-free space is an important first step towards a great-looking master bedroom.Go for subtle colours
The next golden rule for a beautiful bedroom that won’t date, is the colour palette. Whether it’s the walls, the upholstery or the flooring, choose a soft palette of monochromatic tones. You could go for gentle hues of creams or blues or earthy browns; the choice is yours. Just keep it muted and subtle. If you don’t want a carpet but can’t afford a wood floor, browse for some neutral shades in cheap vinyl flooring to create a calm and serene environment and add a soft rug for some texture.
Re-do the ceiling
Do not forget the fifth wall of your bedroom, the ceiling. If you don’t want to look at a bland, blank surface, why not add a soft colour on the ceiling to create a feeling of comfort and intimacy. You could use a decorative gold paint treatment or add architectural elements for that ultimate luxury. Consider incorporating a retro tray ceiling for elegance and dimension.
Indulge in plush textiles
Shop for some luxurious textiles to adorn your master bedroom, as there is nothing more beautiful than a bedroom with quality linens. Go for textiles that add a sensual feel of softness and comfort to the bedroom. It could be a cashmere throw on a chair, silk bedding, flat bed sheets or opulent curtains. You can completely change the look of a bedroom with just these textile elements.Create an impact with one key piece of furniture
Add one statement piece of furniture to your bedroom to draw eyes and express your personality. It could be a glorious piece of artwork, an elaborate bed frame, or a fine chandelier that ups the level of style and sophistication in the room. Whatever you choose, just make sure that it fits with the mood of the room and reflects your personal taste and style.
