My style and relationship with jewellery has changed so much in the last year, since that first Covid lockdown in April 2020. I wanted to share all the new jewellery pieces in my life – rings, bracelets and necklaces from premium brands Daisy London, Ottoman Hands and Raemi.
Prior to last year’s first Covid lockdown, I didn’t wear much jewellery. I wore a couple of very minimalist rings and one gold necklace that has sentimental value. I certainly wasn’t the stacker that I am now, and i’m no longer into statement earrings or ‘costume’ jewellery. Now, my style is very much about layering bracelets on each wrist and layering three necklaces. I also wear more rings than I ever did before, on fingers that i’ve never worn rings on before. I’m really into my crystals – rose quartz, amethyst, moonstone – and my style now incorporates this more laid back look. Relaxed bead and stone bracelets sit alongside luxe gold pieces. Yellow gold is the tone I like best, but I do mix metals when it comes to rings and bracelets as you’ll often find me with a silver one on too.
I’ve thought a lot about how and why my style has changed over the course of the pandemic. I think my obsession with stacking bracelets, and rings on multiple fingers, has come about because of the amount of extra time i’ve had to sit and look at my wrists and hands. I wanted to make them interesting. That, teamed with the fact that I was living in loungewear so had no real way to express my boujie style and feel ‘put together’ other than through what bracelets and rings I wore. I learnt how to express myself through jewellery. I also really upped the amount of Instagram Lives and Reels I was doing, as well as daily Zoom calls, so I was looking at my own neck constantly. I added more layers of necklaces to look groomed and ‘on point’ on camera.
I’ve just got lots of new jewellery pieces from some beautiful premium brands, so I wanted to share these new loves of mine with you.
Daisy London Estée Lalonde Octagonal Necklace 18Ct Gold Plate – £149 from Daisy London
This is part of Daisy London’s collaboration with Youtuber Estée Lalonde. I’ve had one of her sunburst necklaces previously, so I like the ‘sun ray’ details on this octagonal piece. It’s a necklace that’s suitable all year round and for all occasions, and visually, I find it really interesting to look at. It’s 925 Sterling Silver plated with 18ct Gold. I’ve had a lot of Daisy London pieces and I wore a necklace every day for over a year, in the shower, before any of the gold plate started to wear off. Now, i’m more careful and don’t get my gold-plated jewellery wet.Daisy London Isla Large Shell Necklace 18Ct Gold Plate – £149 from Daisy London
This is definitely a summer only necklace, but I thought it was so beautiful. I’m wearing it constantly just now and feeling all the summer beach vibes. The shell has almost a matte gold finish and it’s so pretty. Again, this is 925 Sterling Silver with 18ct gold plate. I love the rope chain and i’ll be wearing this for many summers to come.Raemi Pari Ring – £69 from Raemi
Speaking of Youtubers, I just had to have a piece from Amelia Liana’s new brand Raemi. I fell in love the with Pari ring as soon as I saw it and knew instantly that it had to live on my thumb. This is such a beautiful brand and there are so many more pieces i’m eyeing up. Everything comes beautifully wrapped and the customer service is excellent – I had to exchange the ring for a bigger size and it was so quick and easy.
Ottoman Hands Gold Twist Ring – £21 from Ottoman Hands
On the finger next to my thumb I wear this very dainty gold twist ring. It’s 21ct gold plated recycled brass. This is a sustainable brand, from their materials to their packaging. I’ve never had a brass ring before, so i’m interested to see how this wears.Ottoman Hands Polymnia Emerald Square Stacking Ring – £50 from Ottoman Hands
This is an 18ct gold plated recycled Sterling Silver ring with a beautiful Emerald stone. It’s dainty and I layer it over two tiny diamond rings I got a few years ago. This is a large size and this is the only finger on each hand that it fits on and my hands are quite small, so definitely size up if you can. Ottoman Hands Aquarius Zodiac Rings with Rose Quartz Stone – £22 from Ottoman Hands
This tiny pink stoned ring that’s open, can be resized to fit all fingers. I don’t wear this all the time, but I think it looks pretty next to the green stone. Rose Quartz is said to replace negative energy with positive energy. It’s again 21ct gold plated recycled brass and comes with a plain ring as a duo.Ottoman Hands Delmore Pearl and Turquoise Chain Bracelet – £60 Ottoman Hands
This is a lot chunkier and more summery than it looked on the website, so this will definitely be a seasonal piece for me. It’s 21ct gold plated recycled brass and has a natural pearl and a turquoise stone. It also has a more rustic texture than it looked on the website. Definitely a beach or poolside piece for me.
