As a busy mum, there are so many different things you need to think about every day, from getting your child washed, dressed, and fed, to keeping the house in order and getting to work on time. It’s likely that the last thing on your mind is what clothes you are going to wear. However, if fashion is something you care about, it’s important to still explore, challenge and indulge in this aspect of your self and your identity, since it can give you a great confidence boost. Here are four fashion hacks for busy mums which will help you look and feel great, despite how busy you are.

    Mix and Match Your Outfits

Do not be afraid to mix and match different clothing items to create multiple outfits from the same pieces. For example, you can wear the same pair of jeans over a couple of days (if they are clean, of course) simply by pairing them with a different top or jumper. This will help you look great every day of the week without having to buy and wash endless items of clothing. Layering clothes in different ways is your friend, Don’t feel pressured into wearing matching outfits and instead go for whatever you think looks good!

Don’t Be Afraid to Buy Something New

While most of your time and money will be spent looking after your child once you are a mum, it is important that you do buy yourself some new clothes occasionally, if it’s someting you enjoy. Your body changes so much during pregnancy and after giving birth that often it is totally normal if the clothes you have no longer suit or fit you. By adding a few new clothing pieces to your wardrobe, you will find it a lot easier to put together stylish outfits quickly. Online shopping makes things so much easier for mums as you can do it during a quiet ten minutes, without having to spend half a day trawling around the shops. Think about pieces you can layer and wear in multiple ways – Luella Fashion is great for this. Look at how they layer knitted vests and jumpers over dresses. You can then team them with leggings or jeans on another day to create a totally different look.

    Always Add Accessories

You can never underestimate how much difference accessories can make to any outfit; a pair of earrings can give the impression that you made loads of effort when getting ready this morning, and a fashionable handbag can draw attention away from the fact that you were rushing out the door. Accessories don’t have to cost you a lot of money, and simply by adding them to your outfit, you can boost your style and feel more confident in your appearance.

    Leggings are Your Best Friends

Adding a pair of leggings to a dress or top is a great fashion hack that will make sure you feel comfortable, while also looking stylish. Leggings are great to have in your wardrobe as they go with pretty much anything and can be worn any time of year. I live in leggings most of the time!

We hope these few fashion hacks have given you some ideas to make getting dressed in the morning a whole lot easier!
