One-Piece Swimsuits
One-piece swimsuits come in a variety of different styles, so you’re sure to find one that suits your body type. I prefer to keep more covered, so I always opt for this as it sucks in my tummy.
If you have a larger bust: Look for a top with padding or underwires for extra support. You could also try a halter neck style or one with straps that cross over the chest.
If you have a smaller bust: You can get away with more revealing styles such as plunging necklines, low backs, and cut-outs.
If you’re a bit self-conscious about your tummy: Try on some swimsuits with ruching or embellishments across the midriff to help conceal any lumps and bumps.
If you have athletic shoulders: Look for tops with ruffles or embellishments around the neck area to help balance your shoulders with your hips.
If you want to show off a little skin: Get ready to slay in a swimsuit with cut-out details. These are popular styles at the moment and will turn heads! You could also try an open-back style or a one-piece with a plunging neckline.
If you want to cover everything up: Look for swimsuits that come in dark colors. They’re slimming and help conceal those problem areas! You could also try on some styles with sleeves, which are great if you want extra coverage on your arms.
If you have a pear body type: You should go for a swimsuit with a lot of fabric around the hips and bottom. This will help to balance out your figure.Bikini Tops
There are so many different bikini tops on the market it can be hard to decide which one is right for you. Do you want a top that offers support, or do you prefer something more daring? Here’s a guide to help you find the best bikini top for your body type
If you have a rounder figure: Look for a bikini top with solid support and wide straps. Try to avoid tops that are too tight or have too much detail, as these will only draw attention to your fuller areas.
If you have an athletic figure: A sports bra-style bikini top is perfect for you. Look for bold colors and patterns to add some fun to your look.
If you have a smaller chest: A string bikini top or a triangle-shaped one will help create the illusion of a bigger chest. You can also try adding padding for extra lift and cleavage.
If you have an hourglass figure: Look for a bandeau style with plenty of support, such as underwires or moulded cups. This style will help to emphasise your curves.
If you have a pear-shaped figure: Try a bikini top with ruffles or details on the bottom half, as this will help balance out your proportions. You could also look for a top that ties around your waist for extra support.
If you are plus size: You should go for a high waisted bikini swimsuit with a lot of coverage. This will help to camouflage your stomach and hip area.
No matter what body type you have, there are plenty of great options when it comes to bikinis! Spend some time experimenting with different styles and colors until you find the one that’s perfect for you.
Beach Dresses & Cover-Ups
If you’re planning a beach trip, then you might want to pack a beach dress! This is because they are great for throwing on when it gets cool or if you don’t feel comfortable walking around in your bikini. Especially great if you want to pop for a drink or lunch at a beach bar that all the best beaches have. In addition, these dresses come in so many different styles and colors, so they can easily be incorporated into any holiday wardrobe.
There are three main styles of beach dress: the maxi, the tunic, and the shift. The maxi is a long flowing garment that usually reaches your ankles or calves (depending on how tall you are). It’s ideal for when it gets cool because it covers up most of your legs – plus its loose fit means there’s no need to worry about squeezing into it after a big meal! Perfect if you want to protect your legs from the sun too. The tunic is another excellent choice because it falls just above your knees, letting you still show off your tanned legs. Finally, the shift dress comes in at knee-length and has straps, so that you can still work on that tan and be dressed suitably for lunch.
Which one should you choose? It all depends on what you’re looking for! If you want something that will keep your skin covered up and protected from the sun, then a maxi dress is probably best. It’s also great if any mosquitoes are around because they can’t bite through the fabric as quickly as with bare flesh. However, if you’re looking for something a bit more revealing, then the tunic or shift dress might be a better option.
Remember to also not forget your sunglasses, to protect your eyes from harmful UV rays, as well as that all important SPF30+ cream, a hat that will protect your face from the ageing sun, and some beach-suitable footwear that’s easy to kick on and off. Have a great beach holiday!
