I always take all my skincare serums and moisturisers right up to under my lower lashes, so historically, eye creams were not something I used daily. However, not that I’m 40 in a couple of years, I’ve expanded the anti-ageing skincare I use, as I’ve noticed little lines start to creep in, so I’ve started using one every morning and evening and really taking time with the application so it’s like a little treatment all round my eyes. I use my Foreo Luna 3 Plus to massage my under-eyes and I use an ice roller or a rose quartz roller on them too. Recently, 3 new eye creams have entered my routine – new launches from First Aid Beauty and Caudalie, and a new discovery from Institut Esthederm.

This hydrating, smoothing and de-puffing eye cream is a new launch from First Aid Beauty. It claims to offer 24 hours of hydration, and although I can’t comment on that, it is extremely hydrating and plumping and it is formulated with Hyaluronic Acid to keep the moisture locked in and to draw in more moisture to the skin. It’s also very soothing and cooling due to the Cucumber Extract ingredient – nothing better than a refreshing eye cream! Finally, Caffeine helps to brighten the under-eye area and minimise dark circles. The texture is light and it’s easily absorbed. I love to keep this one in the fridge and it really ups the ante and makes it extra plumping, smoothing and refreshing. Dreamy, and it sits well under makeup too!Caudalie Premier Cru Dark Circle Correcting Eye Cream* – £47 from Look Fantastic (20% OFF WITH CODE ‘LFTFLPEARSON’)
The Premier Cru line isn’t new to Caudalie, but it has just been reformulated and repackaged to transform it, and I’m loving them! Now Caudalie has teamed up with Harvard Medical School to develop the new formula. They have have co-created ground-breaking technology which stimulates youth proteins in the skin and corrects 8 signs of ageing; being wrinkles, fine lines, dark spots, dullness, elasticity loss, decreased firmness, dehydration and lack of skin volume. They worked together for 10 years to work on this revolutionary research and develop the patented TET8™ complex.
Read my review of the Institut Esthederm Eye Contour Lift Patches.
The key ingredient and discovery to come out of the research is a rejuvenating enzyme named TET that helps to reverse the ageing process. Then the pharmaceutical active ingredient Honokiol (from Magnolia flower) boosts this enzyme and multiplies its effects. This is combined with Resveratrol to really make a powerhouse complex to correct the 8 main signs of ageing. Resveratrol is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredient that comes from grapes and has been key to Caudalie’s products for a long time, as it helps skin to defend and repair itself. It’s also a great anti-ageing ingredient as it improves fine lines, wrinkles and elasticity. Also in this eye cream is hydrating Hyaluronic Acid, anti-dark spot Viniferine and tightening sugars that work in just 3 minutes to tighten the skin for up to 6 hours. This product is a real scientific masterpiece!Institut Esthederm Intensive Hyaluronic Eye Serum* – £35 from Look Fantastic (20% OFF WITH CODE ‘LFTFLPEARSON’)
This is a light gel serum, so not as heavy as the previous two products. It’s totally dreamy to apply with the ultra-cooling metal application tip. It feels so soothing and instantly hydrates – your skin really does drink it in, literally. As it’s so hydrating, it plumps out fine lines and your tear trough; giving you a more youthful eye area and one that looks less tired. It also illuminates dark circles to give you an even more well-rested appearance. Take it all around your eyes, including under your brow bones, and as this is more of a gel texture, it’s absolute perfection teamed with a cryo ice roller – this combo will make you look like Sleeping Beauty after the Prince wakes her up! The key ingredient is obviously Hyaluronic Acid, to hydrate and lock in that moisture. There’s also moisturising Glycerin and Squalane in there too. All about that hydration!
