This is a review of the new Dermalogica Daily Milkfoliant. I love Dermalogica as they have amazing products. Products that i’ll always have in my life include the Circular Hydration Serum and the Biolumin-C Gel Moisturiser. Also the Biolumin-C Eye Gel, and the Hyaluronic Ceramide Mist. However, their latest launch – the Daily Milkfoliant – is one I don’t like sadly.
This post contains a PR sample and an affiliate code but all opinions are my own.
The Dermalogica Daily Milkfoliant* (£59 from Look Fantastic) is an exfoliating powder. If you use my affiliate code LFTFLPEARSON you can get it for £46.61! You mix with it with water to create an exfoliating paste. I never like products you need to mix yourself as I don’t like the extra hassle.
However, that aside, I still really wanted to like this but it just doesn’t do anything for me. Plus £59 is a big price for a powder you need to mix that also doesn’t do much.
What is the Dermalogica Daily Milkfoliant?
The Dermalogica Daily Milkfoliant is an exfoliating product designed for very sensitive skin. It’s designed to be used daily, so this is no Drunk Elephant Babyfacial. It’s a chemical exfoliator with AHA and BHA acids. The other ingredients counteract the side effects of these for sensitive skin – calming, soothing and hydrating the skin.
However, the Dermalogica Daily Milkfoliant feels so weak to me. I think even the most sensitive of skins will struggle to feel like this has exfoliated their skin. It does soften and hydrate the skin, but that’s not what you’re paying £59 for.It isn’t the nicest smelling product either. It’s not an offensive smell, but it’s a musty, earthy scent that’s not enjoyable. It smells the way it does because it’s designed for sensitive skin, is Vegan and is fragrance-free. The musty earthiness of the Dermalogica Daily Milkfoliant comes from the oats and coconut milk in the formula. These are there to soothe, calm and hydrate the skin.
Does the Dermalogica Daily Milkfoliant work?
I am really interested to hear the thoughts of those with extremely sensitive skin who have used the Dermalogica Daily Milkfoliant. I’d like to see whether they feel it’s exfoliating their skin at all? My skin is used to much stronger products, so this would never stand up in comparison, but it just hasn’t done anything. The experience of using it is unpleasant to me too – having to mix it myself and the smell.I really look forward to trying each new release from Dermalogica, as I do love the brand. Unfortunately, the Dermalogica Daily Milkfoliant is a fail for me. However, if you have extremely sensitve skin and struggle to find products that your skin can handle, this is a gentle option to consider.
