reThe new Summer Friday’s Sheer Skin Tint is the skincare brand’s first makeup product. I bought it straight away as it sounded perfect for me – light coverage & all about real skin. Read on for a Summer Fridays Skin Tint review.
The Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint (£40 from SpaceNK) is a vegan tinted moisturiser is designed to be a sheer, light coverage but as with any makeup, I expected it to enhance my skin. To celebrate natural skin but blur and even out some imperfections. It claims to moisturise, reduce pores, reduce redness and even out the skin tone. This is not what the Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint did for me.
Now for the bad Summer Fridays review – it did a lot of negative things, but zero positives. By the very definition of makeup, this did not enhance or improve anything. It didn’t boost glow or add radiance, it didn’t minimise redness or pores, it didn’t even out skin tone or pigmentation and it didn’t make my skin look healthy and hydrated.
Why is the Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint so bad?
It did make my skin look 10 years older and it did make my skin look dry, dull and unhealthy by clinging to dry patches. In the same way it highlighed creases, and offered no coverage at all. It added nothing to my skin whatsoever. It made my healthy, plump skin look terrible! I would choose going makeup free every time over this. The shade range is pretty poor with just 10 too!
At £40 for 30ml, the Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint is not a cheap product either. You seem to need much more of this than you would apply with other bases too. I tried applying it with a brush, with a beauty blender sponge and with my fingers. Nothing worked and it always looked patchy – clinging to any areas of texture or dryness.
I don’t understand how others on Instagram have got a good finish with this! I’m sad this had to be a negative Summer Fridays review. For another terrible tinted moisturiser, check out this Rare Beauty Tinted Moisturiser review.
I’m sad about this tinted moisturiser review
I really wanted to like the Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint, but I just have nothing positive to say about it at all. It’s a total fail for me. Yet, I’ve seen some people on Instagram rave about it. If you take one thing from this Summer Fridays review, please do not buy this until you have tested it out in a store to fully see what it looks like on your skin. It’s a product that proves we are all different and my skin is healthy and hydrated so I should be the ideal test candidate.
You can see a video of it on my on my Instagram – just look for the Summer Fridays Reel. I did just get my eyebrows waxed and it clings to this especially, but it clings to all other texture too. Thanks for reading this Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint review. Visit my Instagram to see it in action. I’m off to find my missing hydration and glow! I hope this negative Summer Fridays review will at least make you get a sample or try it out in store first before buying! If you want another skin tint option, the Fenty Ease Drop Blurring Skin Tint is amazing. Or slightly more coverage (but still light) from the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue CC Cream and the Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturiser.
