    TIPS TO BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE

    May 1, 2024 in LIFESTYLE

It’s normal to have good days and bad days. However, if youneed a confidence boost so you can embrace your day-to-day more freely, there are some things you can do. While some people may have suffered a loss of confidence due to the pandemic, others may have undergone other life events that have taken a toll on their self-esteem.

A long-term benefit of good confidence levels includes abetter quality of life, where you fail to let other people’s opinions ruin your day. Confidence isn’t just about physical appearance, it’s about how you conduct yourself. For this reason, experts believe that good confidence is linked to being physically healthy and having a sufficient diet, alongside other forms of healthcare.

Here are some suggestions for how you can boost your confidence.

    Practice body neutrality

You may have heard of body positivity but have you heard of body neutrality? The way we talk to our bodies can be fundamental to how we perceive ourselves. Once you go down a rabbit hole of frequent negative thoughts, you could suffer from ongoing poor self-esteem which can be damaging.

Sometimes, body positivity can feel like a step too far if you’re starting from scratch, which is where body neutralitycomes into the picture. It means taking a neutral view of your body, encouraging you to accept it for how it is.

    Carefully curate your circle

The people you surround yourself with can have a greater impact on your confidence than you might expect. Often, we find ourselves in the company of those who promote toxic relationships, whether they realise it or not. This might involve someone projecting their own low self-esteem onto you or belittling you intentionally.

Either way, it’s hard not to absorb this energy when you spend a lot of time with these people. Try your best to establish boundaries and seek out relationships that make you feel good about yourself. It’s about uplifting one another, not putting each other down.

    Switch up your look

There’s no denying that when you look good, you also feel good. However, don’t let this think you need to conform to conventional beauty standards to achieve this. Looking good simply means embracing your true self, whatever that means to you.

Some people find switching up their look can help to open this new chapter. Take time to work out your own individual style that helps you feel great. You could treat yourself to a luxury bra to change your outline, or change your hair. Maybe you want to go for something super simple like changing up your accessories instead, looking at things like gold bracelets from Kendra Scott which are understated and yet beautiful. The choice is yours!

You can even go one step further with this and consider cosmetic surgery such as a rhinoplasty if you feel as though this would help your confidence. This is something you should deeply research before jumping in though, but if you feel it’s right for you, then do it. For instance, if your goal is to reclaim your natural proportions or feel more balanced in your favorite clothing, carefully planning a breast augmentation procedure can be an incredibly empowering milestone. When approached with realistic expectations and the guidance of a trusted specialist, it becomes less about altering who you are and more about aligning your outer appearance with your inner confidence.

    Focus on your health

Health is an important part of improving your confidence. If you know that you look after your body, this can make a big difference to your life.

Mental health and physical health can be addressed separately, though there should be an acknowledgement of how they can compliment one another. You might considermeditation or journalling to work on your mental health, meanwhile, taking up a form of exercise you love can aid your physical health. A nutritious diet will also help with this.
