We get into this article, we should convey that wrinkles are completely normal. They’re a privileged part of life, and we all get them. Laughter, lions, crow’s feet, and the occasional furrowed brow are all just a part of being wonderfully expressive as a human being.
That said, if you’re hoping to avoid forehead wrinkles for a little bit longer, or at least slow them down, there are a few things that you can do to avoid them.
Get your eyes checked.
Yes, we’re being serious about this. Before you decide to invest in a dozen different creams or swear off laughing forever, book yourself in for an eye test. If you’ve been squinting at your screens, signs, or even your favorite book, your forehead is going to be working overtime, and the solution could be as simple as getting the right prescription glasses. By wearing the correct lenses, you’ll take the strain off your eyes and your forehead, and you won’t be squinting to see everything. Think of it as wrinkle prevention, optician style.
Wear sunglasses.
In a similar vein to getting your eyes tested, wearing sunglasses can be a blessing when it comes to avoiding forehead wrinkles. A good cause of forehead wrinkles is sun glare, which means if you’re constantly out in bright light without proper eye protection, the chances are you’re squinting without realising it. A good pair of prescription sunglasses can massively help, and they’ll protect your eyes from harmful UV and stop you from frowning. Those two long frown lines in between your eyebrows will be gone in a moment because you’ll be able to smooth out your forehead for a change.
Moisturise your forehead.
You don’t have to overthink this, but going back to skin care basics can make a big difference. A lightweight and hydrating moisturizer can do wonders to keep your skin plump and prevent those lines from becoming permanent residents. Choose things that have hyaluronic acid or peptides in them and apply them in an upward, gentle motion. But remember, there is no cream in the world that can undo months of squinting or frowning. So start with your vision.
Relax your face.
Your face doesn’t have to be in concentration mode every hour of every day. Whether you’re scrolling, driving, or you’re deep in thought, making a habit of checking in with your facial muscles is a good idea. If your forehead is tense or scratched up all the time, it’s time to take a breath and soften that expression of yours.
Speak to a Professional
Speak to a beautician. Sometimes the only way to get rid of wrinkles is to use Botox or other plumping injections to help. This is not going to be along the same line as avoiding the wrinkles in the first place, however, but about making the appearance of them disappear when they have turned up. Once you know how to do this, you’re going to feel so much better about your skin and whether or not you have lines across your forehead.
