Max Factor have released four new lipsticks inspired by screen and beauty icon Marilyn Monroe. They have designed a shade of red to suit every skin tone in the hope that more woman will wear a glamourous red lip this January. During a recent poll they conducted, they discovered that over 50% of women avoid wearing glam makeup during dull January as it takes too long too apply. They also found out that 53% of women avoid red lipstick altogether as they can’t find a shade to suit them. The new Max Factor Marilyn Monroe Colour Elixir Lipstick (£7.99 from www.boots.com) range has something for everyone and is moisturising and long-lasting- a super quick way and reliable way to make a beauty statement!

I love all of the four shades, but I think that my favourite is Marilyn Sunset Red- an orange-toned red. There’s also Marilyn Ruby Red- the original Marilyn Monroe iconic true red, Marilyn Berry- a red with blue undertones, and Marilyn Cabernet- a deep and dark purple-toned red.

The formulation of all of the shades are amazing- very creamy and packed with moisturising and hydrating ingredients such as shea butter, avocado and aloe butters. They are highly pigmented and just glide on easily. They are long-lasting and don’t fade patchily. You will need to freshen up with a quick slick if you eat something, but otherwise, they will last for hours.
