I am so happy to have discovered this amazing skincare brand from Scotland. The Skin Geek was created by aestitician Nicola, who has been working miracles on skin for the past 18 years. She has created a range of skincare products and tools from micro-needling rollers to cryo rollers, and hydrogel sheet masks to Hyaluronic Acid & Niacinamide ampoules (which i’m desperate to try next as they look amazing)!
I have been using The Skin Geek Hydra Gel Masks* (£7 from The Skin Geek) and I love them. They come in two sections to allow you to get a good fit to the unique contours of your face. These are hydrogel masks so they adhere much better to the face than fibre masks (and allow for deeper serum penetration); but they don’t have that second skin feel you get from the more sophisticated bio-cellulose masks. If you moved about too much, these would slip and fall off. That aside, there’s very little left to complain about as these are fabulous masks.
Each of these masks retails for £7 and they are definitely worth that price as they leave your skin feeling and looking incredible – bouncy, plump, soft and hydrated. The serum that the masks are soaked in contains humectants, such as glycerin and hyaluronic acid, that draw moisture into the skin; anti-inflammatories to soothe the skin and reduce redness; and antioxidants to shield the skin from free radicals. I wish Skin Geek would be more transparent on their site about what specifically the ingredients are, but they aren’t. If I do manage to get the information, i’ll add it to this post. The mask does its job very well – I can say that!
I’ve been enjoying using these masks with a cryo roller over the top. The Skin Geek branded cryo rollers are £39, and although they are great, I can’t recommend that you should buy one as you can get just as good a roller unbranded on Amazon for a quarter of that price. That is indeed where I purchased my original cryo roller and it’s still going strong years later.
These are really good masks and you get great results from them. If you are a sheet mask addict, then i’d definitely say that you need to try these. I will definitely be continuing to use and re-purchase these as I love how my skin feels after using one.
