I love this. Really love it. Did I mention that I love this? I’ve read so many mixed reviews, and I honestly think most of the negative ones are down to people not understanding how to use and apply this fabulous product.
Yes, the texture is odd and won’t be like anything you’ve seen before. I liken it to a wobbly panna cotta dessert; where if you stick your finger in and make a hole, it will bounce back into shape.
All you need to do is use the enclosed spatula to scoop a spatula-end sized amount out (about the size of a 5p coin) let it melt between your hands for a second, then massage into your face like you would a night cream. It is a very cooling treat.
It won’t absorb easily like a moisturiser would however, but will leave an almost thin ‘film’ on your face that at first is quite wet and sticky. I put it on around 30 minutes before going to sleep i.e. letting my face touch the pillows, as this time allows it to absorb into the skin and mostly dry; leaving just a slightly tacky (but not unpleasant) invisible coating on your face.
In the morning, just wash your face as normal and you’ll be instantly pleased with the results. This product is incredibly hydrating, and leaves my skin super-smooth and bouncier. It also really glows and looks very healthy after using it. I really can’t rate it highly enough.
It contains Edelweiss stem cells that are known to be cell-renewing, and has a refreshing light plant-like smell. If your skin needs a boost of goodness, this is for you. It would be amazing during a long-haul flight too.
Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask costs £22 and is available from The Body Shop. You only use a tiny amount at a time, so this huge 90ml pot will last you ages.
