I discovered GLAMGLOW YOUTHMUD when I had a GLAMGLOW facial at a Glasgow day spa earlier this year and I’ve adored it ever since. If I have a big event to go to, I rely on this the night before to get my skin looking the best it possibly can- it was infact created for Hollywood. It’s a face mask that has so many different benefits for your skin and I chose it for today’s Face Mask Friday since Look Fantastic have it as one of their Black Friday deals this weekend, where you can pick it up for £39.99 instead of the usual £49.99. It’s on 3 for 2 also. The product I have in the photograph is travel size, but you’ll get a full 50g pot for this price- enough for approximately 6 treatments.
The first time I tried GLAMGLOW YOUTHMUD, during my facial, it was not a pleasant experience as I wasn’t aware it was a ‘tingling’ product. I’d actually say that burning and stinging are more appropriate adjectives. However the more you use it, the more you get used to this feeling and I don’t really mind it now as the results make any discomfort more than worth it.
It’s a lot bitier than your normal smooth clay mask as it contains flakes of Green Tea leaves. The mask is made with French Sea Clay and volcanic minerals and it is designed to deeply clean pores and exfoliate to leave your skin soft, glowing and radiant. The results are definitely instant and last for a good few days after each treatment. You apply a reasonably opaque layer to your skin and leave it on for ten minutes. It will harden and get increasingly more stinging on the skin. When it’s time to remove the mask, you wet your hands and rub the mask into your skin to exfoliate it, like you would with a face scrub. I do this for a few minutes and then wipe it off with a muslin cloth.
You skin feels incredibly soft afterwards but still quite hot and burning. There is no visible irritation if you were to look in the mirror, and the feeling does disappear after about half an hour. Your skin also feels a lot tighter and looks a lot smoother as the mask penetrates deeply to soften the appearance of lines.
This is an expensive product, so I keep it for special occasions. If you wanted to use it regularly however, I wouldn’t use it more than once per week. Have you tried a GLAMGLOW product before?
