How pretty do these brand new mascaras from YSL look?! The YSL Beauté Vinyl Couture Mascaras* (£25 from YSL) launched on counters on 25th May and they come in an array of nine beautiful colours.
I have been trying five of the nine available colours- I’m the Clash (pure black), I’m the Excitement (green), I’m the Illusion (brown sparkle), I’m the Madness (fushia pink) and I’m the Fire (gold sparkle top coat). Out of these, the black, pink and gold top coat are suitable for contact lens wearers. When on and in the tube, it’s a bit difficult to visually seperate the darker shades (i.e. the black, green and brown here), but the brights are extremely eye-catching and daring. I love that the tubes are clear too.
These mascaras are great all-rounders – they lengthen, volumise, curl and colour right from the lash root to the tip. YSL describe them as having a “lacquer-like fluid texture as supple and bright as vinyl” and I think this is spot on – the formula is creamy and very pigmented, but it doesn’t weigh lashes down. YSL have put four years of research and over 400 trials into these mascaras to make them as brilliant as they are. The mascaras also care for your lashes as well as making them look good – they are infused with four different oils to condition and protect.
I think the pink is my favourite, but I’ve been loving wearing the gold top coat over the black too. I need to pick up the blue next as it looks amazing. Do you have your eye on any of these mascaras?
