It’s Face Mask Friday time again, and this week, I’m reviewing a new release from Murad – the Murad Pore Extractor Pomegranate Mask. It comes in a pot and you apply an even layer to clean skin.
The Murad Pore Extractor Pomegranate Mask* (£30 from Murad) is a clay based mask that’s designed to refine pores, clear out impurities from pores, and exfoliate dead skin cells. Volcanic Clay draws and extracts dirt and impurities from your pores; Pomemgranate adds glow to your skin and minimises the appearance of pores; and Polylactic Acid polishing beads exfoliate away dead skin from the surface of your face.
It definitely does all of the above very well, but I don’t think it’s aimed for my skin type – normal to dry and dehydrated, as it does leave your skin feeling quite stripped. Your skin feels incredibly clean, but with that comes that feeling of dryness and dehydration. I would recommend this mask to those of you with oily skin and who are prone to spots and blackheads however.
You apply this mask to your face and leave it on for 10 minutes, before adding some water to your fingers and massaging in the gritty beads to exfoliate your skin. You can then rinse the mask off with warm water, or use a hot damp flannel. Although this is a clay mask, it doesn’t go that very hard, cracking consistency on the skin when it dries out, so it’s a lot more comfortable to use than many other clay masks. It has a lovely fresh scent too, and it’s pink!
If you have oily and/or blemish-prone skin, I think this could really help you. I love the Murad brand, but this particular product just isn’t for my skin type. Have you tried it out yet?
