STILA THE IMPRESSIONIST SPRING 2016 COLLECTION

January 21, 2016 in BEAUTY, Uncategorized

Stila Spring 2016 The Impressionist Collection

Stila’s Spring 2016 collection is inspired by the Impressionist art movement which played with light and vivid colours, and used light and watery sweeping stokes. I have been playing with two of the new products- the Aqua Glow Serum Foundation (£34.50) and one of the Convertible Color Dual Lip & Cheek Palettes (£29)- and I love them. I’ve been eating and loving these cute Biscuiteers makeup cookies too.

Stila Aqua Glow Serum Foundation Fair Swatch

    Laura Pearson-Smith

The Stila Aqua Glow Serum Foundation is so beautiful and a joy to use. It is a water-based foundation that contains light-reflecting pigments that make the skin look more radiant and even. This foundation is very lightweight and quite watery in texture but it provides an excellent medium to full coverage- you can layer it easily to get the coverage level you need. It applies so smoothly and blends perfectly and it is incredibly hydrating on my dry and dehydrated skin. It contains a mixture of ionized water, Hyaluronic Acid and essential minerals to hydrate and nourish the skin. I love how this foundation looks- my skin glows and looks flawless with this and it doesn’t look like you are wearing a heavy base. There are 10 shades and I have the lightest- Fair. This foundation is great for dry or normal skin and it helps reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles on older skin too. It might just be too thin and glowy a formula for oily skin however.

Convertible Color Dual Lip & Cheek Palette in Sunrise Splendor

Convertible Color Dual Lip & Cheek Palette in Sunrise Splendor Swatches

I have the Convertible Color Dual Lip & Cheek Palette in Sunrise Splendor. There are five shades- English Rose, Lillium, Cherry Blossom, Fushcia and Tulip- that are designed to be used on both the cheeks and the lips. I love all of these colours and they are so pigmented. They work wonderfully as long-lasting lip colours, but I don’t like them on the cheeks at all- I find that they are too ‘oily’ and slick, and have too much of a shine to be used on the face. The is also a Sunset Serenade palette- a more nude and brown-toned selection of colours.

The collection will be available from 25th January. Are you going to be purchasing any of these?
