Since I was ill all last week, and hauled up in bed (I basically lived in there for 5 days), I have a re-ignited passion for the thing. So, I want to give my bed some love and buy it some new things. I’ll never get rid of my favourite £70 luxury feather pillow; but I do need a new mattress (some springs stick in unfortunate places) and some new bedding. I’m thinking it might like a hot water bottle or two too.
I love having scatter cushions on my bed (yes, I take them off at night and put them on again in the morning), and I love this bird print Summer Palace Duck Egg Cushion (£36) from Laura Ashley. I’m also loving a cosy Teal Wooly Twist Cushion (£16) from Next. I also really like the cute gathered detailing on this pretty Mauve Cotton Rich Pinch Set (£30-£60) with pillow cases and a duvet cover from Next too.
Mattress-wise, i’m eyeing up a memory foam mattress as I always try them in stores and they feel so comfortable. I like the look (and the price) of this Silentnight Comfortable Foam Mattress (£99.99-£149.99) from Mattress Next Day.
I always like an extra blanket or throw on my bed, as well as a hot water bottle near by for icy emergencies. This Chunky Cable Knit Hot Water Bottle (£20) from John Lewis looks so cuddly, and I adore the fluffiness of this Catherine Lansfield Soft & Cuddly Throw (£40) from Freemans.
Have you got any plans to revamp your bed?
