I love Glasgow- it’s now very stylish, with lots of fabulous places to shop and amazing places to eat. When Travelodge got in touch and asked me to take part in their #FlauntYourHaunt campaign by telling you all about my favourite places to go in Glasgow (where they have several hotels), I just had to share my top three shopping destinations. These three places are frequent Glasgow haunts of mine and they all have three things in common too- beautiful architecture, sparkling fairy lights and gorgeous things to buy.
My absolute favourite place in Glasgow (shopping or otherwise) is Princes Square. It is the most stunning shopping and dining destination that’s housed in a Grade-B listed building. It is very elegant, but laid back at the same time. When it is decorated for Christmas it is the most beautiful place in the whole city. Their restaurants and cafes overlook all of the 5 open floors and are the perfect place to people-watch. My favourite shop here is beauty paradise Space NK, but there is also a great Vivienne Westwood store and a Radley store that I love. I just find this such a relaxing place to wander around.
Another place I love to shop and hang out in is Merchant Square. This is a beautiful indoor cobbled market square with great restaurants all round its sides. Every weekend there is a huge craft and design fair in the middle square that is the perfect place to snap up unique presents or just treats for yourself. There’s art work, jewellery, cakes and so much more.

Finally, Royal Exchange Square is covered with a blanket of twinkling lights. It’s great to head here in the Winter after it gets dark, but before the shops close, to really get into the festve spirit and get some retail therapy. There is a Cambridge Satchel Company store here full of gorgeous leather accessories; plus I love the Neal’s Yard Remedies store for organic skincare and aromatherapy products. There is also a huge branch of Zizzi here- my most favourite pizza in all the land!
Have you visited any of these places?
