I can’t believe the first month of the year is over already! It’s time for my January beauty favourites- a round-up of the beauty products that I’ve been using the most over the last 30 days.
I’ve been loving the Sephora Wishes Come True Holiday Palette (now out of stock) since I got it on Christmas Day. It has a mixture of six matte and shimmer powder eyeshadows, a gorgeous bright pink powder blusher and two stunning powder highlighters. The four matte shades in this palette aren’t great- they are quite chalky and there is a lot of fallout. The shimmery gold and silver shades however are beautifully creamy and intensely pigmented. The matte blusher and the two shimmery highlighters are amazing too and the highlighters work great on the eyes as well.
I’ve also been loving two lip products this month- the clear Bee Good Raspberry and White Chocolate Lip Balm (£4.75 from Bee Good) smells delicious. It’s quite a thick and rich balm that moisturises my lips and keeps them smooth really well. It was inspired by beauty vlogger Jason Harwood (#teaminternet rules) and voted for by you guys to be made by Bee Good. The main ingredient is British beeswax which acts as a natural barrier to the skin again bacteria and the environment.
The other lip product I’ve been loving and wearing constantly throughout January is a liquid lipstick from Essence. The Essence Liquid Lipstick in 02 Beauty Secret (£2.50 from Wilko) is a highly pigmented, muted glossy rose colour that is applied with its doe-foot applicator. It isn’t sticky in texture and is very long-lasting.
My favourite mascara at the moment is the brand new release from Elizabeth Arden. Their Grand Entrance Mascara, which launches today (£22 from House of Fraser), is a real show-stopper. I love it’s curved plastic bristled brush that fits nicely into the shape of my lash line. It seperates them beautifully, lengthens them and holds a curl really well. This mascara gives me amazing statement lashes that are very black, very dramatic and very eye-catching.
Finally, I’ve been loving a new duo shimmer highlight and matte contour palette from Sunkissed. Admittedly I’ve only been using this product for a week, but I’ve used it every day as I’m so impressed by it, so I coudn’t not put it in this month’s favourites as I don’t imagine that I’ll stop using it anytime soon. The Sunkissed Sculpt & Glow Palette (£5 from Sunkissed) are really smooth and creamy powders that blend beautifully. This highlighter is very shimmery, but the shimmer particles are finely milled so it looks very natural on the skin.
Have you tried any of these?
