We would all like to be able to buy a new outfit for whenever we leave the house, but that’s simply not feasible. This can make it quite difficult when putting together the perfect wardrobe. This is especially the case when it comes to transitioning between the different seasons. However, you do not need to have a different wardrobe for each of the seasons, as you can take your staple pieces and wear them throughout both colder and warmer months. It is all about what you pair them with.
Winter Jumper
If you look in any women’s knitwear range, you will see that you have plenty of options to choose from, and it is not all about heavy, winter pieces. There are lots of beautiful ways that you can wear jumpers throughout the spring period. One of our favourite options is to wear a shirt underneath the jumper, so you can see the collar out of the top, and teaming this with a feminine skirt. If the weather is not overly pleasant outside, wearing your jumper with a pair of white jeans will look perfect during the spring.
It’s about choosing the right type of knitwear. Stay away from chunky knits, and go for light knits or crocheted knits instead. Choose colours and patterns that are light-toned too and stay away from anything dark.
Winter Boots
You do not need to put your winter boots in the cupboard throughout the spring months. Knee-length boots can still be worn during the spring. Of course, you will want to keep your clothing light and airy. A smock dress or something of this nature can look great with a pair of boots. Ditch the tights and wear them bare-legged too. You may also want to wear a pair of shorts with a t-shirt with some winter boots. Your boots can become the real statement piece of your outfit when you wear them during the spring.
Black Jeans or Leather Trousers
Black jeans or leather trousers are a staple for many throughout the winter months. You may think that black jeans or leather are a bit too dark for the spring period but that is not the case. It is simply about lightening the overall look of the jeans with your choice of top. You can go for pastels or vibrant, neon shades. You do not even have to bring colour into the mix. A neutral palette can look beautiful in the spring as well. Tan, white, and black combine perfectly, and they look incredibly sleek and stylish. The options are plentiful when wearing black jeans or leather trousers in spring.
Dark Floral Dress
We all know what florals are always in for spring, but what about those dark florals that are more gothic and autumnal in style? Can they still work in the spring? Of course! It’s all about accessorising. Team the dress with a pastel cardigan, pastel-toned shoes or a pastel-toned bag. Keep your makeup light-toned and spring-like too. You could even add in a pastel-toned headband, to make the dress work even better for the new season.
As you can see, there are a number of different ways you can wear stereotypically winter pieces throughout the spring months. You do not need to ditch your winter wardrobe altogether. Instead, it is about teaming your winter pieces with light and comfortable fabrics, colours and styles so that you can be warm without overheating and look more sun-appropriate in your style.
