It’s almost festival season in the UK. With this comes incredible music, vibrant colours, and lifelong memories. The unbridled freedom that comes from a music festival has never seemed so necessary given the last few years.
So, picture it now, you and your closest friends in the middle of a field donning your craziest outfits, music blaring in the distance – is there anything better? If the answer is no, then listen closely to the following information. Here are some of the top festivals in the UK this year that are sure to quench your festival thirst.
All Points East
Since its foundation in 2018, All Points East has gained a reputation for its unique blend of genres and music styles. Back in Victoria Park for yet another instalment, it’s confirmed that big names like Stormzy, The Strokes, and HAIM will all be performing.
Even the supporting acts are just as amazing and you can also expect free activities all around the local area. If this is enough to entice you in, the festival will take place August 18th-28th – that’s right, ten days!
Since there is strictly no parking at the festival, you’ll need to use public transport to reach the venue. If you live outside of London, it’s best to get the train to London Kings Cross station. From there, you can use the Tube or the Overground, or you can get a taxi directly to the festival. Definitely a trendy place to go in London.
Creamfields
For dance-music lovers, Creamfields is the perfect festival for you. Since 1998, the original electronic festival has set out to provide the clubbing world with a massive outdoor space, which has grown from a 25,000-capacity show to over 70,000.
Jam-packed with the world’s best DJs, it’s no wonder it has been dubbed the ‘biggest dance festival in the UK’. The success of Creamfields has even led to other shows across the world – 22 countries to be exact, with more in the works.
This year, you’ll find Calvin Harris, Diplo, Martin Garrix, and more than 300 other acts performing across 30 stages. The festival takes place in Warrington at the Daresbury estate from August 24th-27th.
Shambala
If you’re big on your festivals but also place sustainability at the forefront of your adventures, Shambala is the ideal retreat for you. The festival has been meat- and dairy-free since 2016 and even uses 100% renewable energy.
At Shambala 2023, you’ll find music from the likes of Congo Natty, The Go! Team, Dutty Moonshine Big Band, and lots of other budding artists. The event also embraces participation and the non-musical side of festival life, emphasising creative activities like cabaret, debates, and poetry.

Boardmasters
For all you outdoorsy people, there’s no better festival than Boardmasters. Established in 1981, the festival is still going strong, attracting more than 150,000 festival goers across its two sites over the five days.
From August 9th-13th, you’re able to enjoy some incredible live music performances from acts like Liam Gallagher and Florence + The Machine, before heading down to the coast to enjoy some sun, sea, and surfing. Other exciting stuff to add to your itinerary includes a party on Fistral Beach, a Beach Bar, and a BBQ.
