The new Bobbi Brown Wine & Chocolate collection looks so luxurious. The packaging is definitely upmarket and feels very heavy, so something from it would be a much appreciated Christmas gift for all makeup lovers.
This is Bobbi Brown’s holiday collection for 2016 and I have a selection of pieces from it to share with you. It has been inspired by Bobbi’s love of indulging in wine and chocolate – two things that go perfectly together. As you will see, all the colours are brown, berry and nude toned.
First up, I have one of their new Luxe Lip Colour shades (there are two and the other is darker). The Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Colour in Uber Nude* (£25 from Bobbi Brown) is a pink-toned nude that looks brown on me. This isn’t a colour that I’d wear personally with my skin tone, but the formula is so creamy and pigmented. It just glides on this smooth and luscious. When on, it’s designed to boost your lips moisture levels too, to keep them feeling comfortable – perfect for the winter months.
Next, I have two of the new limited edition Brightening Blushes – the Brightening Blush in Pink Truffle and Warm Cocoa* (£35 each). Pink Truffle is very subtle light bronze with hints of pink and it has small glitter particles that really make your skin sparkle. This makes a really pretty blusher on me for ‘no makeup’ makeup days as it still makes me look bright and healthy. Warm Cocoa is a darker glittery brown and would suit darker skin tones. The compacts that these come in are so luxuriously weighty and have a really handy mirror.
Finally, I have both of the new limited edition Wine & Chocolate collection eyeshadow and eyeliner palettes – one inspired by wine and one by chocolate. The brown-toned Chocolate Palette* (£45) is mainly a matte palette as it contains three matte eyeshadows, one metallic eyeshadow and three matte powder Intense Pigment Liners that you can apply with a damp liner brush. My favourite shade in this is the last one in the quad – the shimmer – as I find the mattes a bit too chalky, which is a shame.
You definitely need one of these palettes though as the chic leather packaging is gorgeous. I would go for the Wine Palette* (£45). It has three shimmer shadows, one matte shadow and three of the Intense Pigment Liners. This is more of a plum palette and it looks really decadent on – perfect for the festive season. I really like the quality of these shadows – especially the third shade with tiny flecks of gold glitter.
There are also four really pretty individual sparkly limited edition Sequin Eyeshadows (£26) in the collection, as well as a limited edition Nail Polish in Chocolate (£12) and two limited edition eye makeup brushes (£24.50 each).
Do you like the look of any of the Bobbi Brown Wine & Chocolate collection?
