It feels like we are well into the year now, and hurtling towards the wedding and honeymoon. February was a considerably better month than January, as I wasn’t ill for any of it, never mind all of it. This means that I’ve felt like using and trying a lot more products than last month. Here are some of my favourites – from beauty to homeware.Patchology Breakout Box: 3-in-1 Blemish Fighting Kit – £18, Space NK
I’ve had a bit of an obsession with Patchology recently. Their products are really effective and fun to use, but I suspect my love mostly comes from their colourful packaging and prints. I do love this little kit though, as there’s something in it to cover any blemish emergency, and you get little resealable pouches to put the stickers in to keep them good once you’ve opened a strip. There are clear, sticky circles that you stick over a blemish, press on, and leave to work over night or while you’re sitting about the house. The ‘dots’ isolate the spot and treat it with salicylic acid and tea tree. There are also whitehead-absorbing hydrocolloid dots, for those spots that people tend to squeeze. These dots help extract the impurities and fight infection to enhance the healing process. The third product in the box is blackhead-elimiating nose strips. I haven’t used these as I don’t get blackheads, but if you do, they decongest pores with charcoal, Morrocan lava clay and witch hazel to reduce oil and redness.Elemental Herbology Water Soothe Facial Oil – £30, Elemental Herbology
I’m all about the hydration, so basically, if a product has water in its name, i’m going to like it. This is a light oil that’s calming and hydrating. It’s vegan and contains a blend of 14 essential and plant oils, to hydrate, help restore skin barrier function and protect skin from environmental damage. This is a great oil for if your skin needs a rest, if it’s taken a bit of a battering with acids or retinol. Just warm 5-6 drops onto your palms and press into the skin, before layering on a thick moisturiser like Dr Jart Ceramidin.Jo Malone Red Roses Body & Hand Wash – £32, Jo Malone
I use this as a shower gel only, but it would make a lovely hand wash too. You all know about my love for Jo Malone, and Red Roses is just another one of those scents I can’t get enough of. It’s actually one of my wedding day scents. It’s supposed to smell like rose, violet and crushed lemon leaves. It’s delightful! I really like it in this shower gel form as it really lathers up and delicately scents and hydrates the skin. My bathroom smells so good when I use this.Wicked Gummies Hair, Skin & Nails Gummy*** – £19.99, Wicked Gummies
I was never very good at remembering to take vitamins, until the craze for vitamin gummies appeared. Sweets that are only good for your body? Yes please! These hair, skin and nail gummies are berry flavoured, and you get 60 in a tub, so that’s 2 month’s worth. They contain blend of vitamins and minerals that focus on healthy and strong hair, skin and nails. For example, Biotin, Vitamin A, Vitamin E and Zinc. These taste so good and my skin has been amazing since i’ve started to take this supplement.Photowall Hey Los Angeles Framed Print 100x70cm*** – £125, Photowall
Photowall sell a huge range of framed prints in different sizes, as well as wallpaper and wall murals. I fell in love with this Los Angeles print as soon as I saw it, and I knew I needed it for our fireplace. LA is my favourite place in the world and I really feel it’s my spirit home. This print reflects the busyness and bright lights; but also shows the tranquil hills in the background – my favourite places are up at Benedict Canyon and Laurel Canyon and The Birds. Photowall have given me a code to share with you guys to get you 25% off of any order – just input alifewithfrills2021 at checkout until end of March 2020.Herbivore Botanicals Orchid Youth Preserving Facial Oil*** – £54, Space NK
I’ve picked this one product out to link to, but really i’ve been obsessed with the whole brand all month. It’s definitely the oils I love the most though, and my skin likes all of them and they all serve a different purpose. Orchid was a new one to me this month. It fights environmental damage, brightens and illuminates the skin for a more youthful appearance, and really hydrates the skin. I love the smell of this oil, and it didn’t surprise me to find out that it was Jasmine Sambac Absolute – one of my favourite fragrance notes. This is a great all-round hydrating and perfecting oil. I use this only really in the morning, as I’m all about people seeing that glow!Sleep Master Revolutionary Sleep Mask*** – £19.95, Sleep Master
This is honestly the best face mask i’ve ever tried, and I can’t wait to take it on a long-haul flight in a few months. It’s silk, so gentle on the skin, and it offers total light elimination. It’s also padded, which is great for travel, and these pads have in-built sound muffling to block out the environment around you and leave you in your own little world to doze off. This is a hypoallegenic mask and you can only wash it bu hand. It has a velcro fastening at the back, so can adjust to all heads and allows you to get that personalised tight fit to block out light and sound.Remove & Chill Nail Polish Removal Cream – £14.95, BeautyMART
I hate standard acetone nail polish removers as they sting and they smell so bad. They really dry out your nails too. When I saw this revolutionary product on Instagram, I had to try it! I love it! It’s a buttery cream that you apply to each nail in a generous layer then leave to work its magic, then you massage it in and wipe it off, taking all the nail polish with you. When it’s breaking down the nail polish, it’s also conditioning and hydrating your nails and cuticles, and it smells so nice too as it’s acetone-free. It contains macadamia nut oil, almond oil, argan oil and vitamin E to keep cuticles and nails hydrated and conditioned. I don’t know the science behind how it takes off the nail polish; but it does it, fuss and hassle-free.
