This has been the first Face Mask Friday post that I’ve done in a long time, but they’re back and I’m going to do my best to do one weekly. As you know, I’m a face mask addict and I’m constantly trying new ones. This one is a bit late as i’ve had Covid and Tonsillitis. You can also see what I’ve been loving over on my Instagram.
This week’s mask is a sheet mask from clinical skincare brand Meder Beauty. Their Lipo-Oval Mask (£61 for 5 from Meder Beauty) has been a lifesaver for me recently.
I’ve been crying hard a lot since my Dad died, and it’s usually at night at bed-time when my mind starts to quieten and I focus on it. We all know how puffy and red a crying face look it. This sheet mask in the morning before I have to go into the office or out somewhere is a literal saviour. It slims the look of the face, gets rid of puffiness, makes under-eye bags vanish and generally makes the face look firmer, smoother and more contoured.
It’s the perfect morning treatment to make you look fresh, rested and hydrated. It’s made of a stretchy bamboo fibre and it hooks under the chin and behind the ears, in addition to covering your face like a regular sheet mask. You then wear it for 20 minutes. The serum that the bamboo fabric is soaked in has so many powerful, face-transforming ingredients in it and it’s all created in the brand’s Swiss laboratory.
Caffeine energises and works at reducing local fat deposits. Chinese yam helps your skin to maintain it’s elasticity during weight loss (something I’m also working on at the moment). Centella Asiatica, peptides and Allantoin calms and soothes the skin; a powerful capillary strengthening complex boosts microcirculation, and amino acids promote skin healing and strengthen the skin. Pullulan from a Japanese fungus, lifts and firms the face and there’s a rich moisturising complex in there too (including urea, Vitamin E and olive oil). Finally, Panthenol and marigold extract promotes skin regeneration and renewal. Phew!
If you need to really get your skin looking its best fast, this is the mask for you. Ideal for post-cry or pre-red carpet event, it won’t let you down. I’ll definitely be keeping some of these masks in my skincare arsenal for de-puffing and sculpting emergencies!
